The Bratva

The Bratva is a term used to refer to the collective of various organized crime elements originating in the former Soviet Union. Although not a singular criminal organization, most of the individual groups share similar goals and organizational structures that define them as part of the loose overall association.Dimitry Klarakuzov, the leader of the Russian Bratva from Moscow was founded guilty for the murder of the Italian mafia boss who ordered some shipments to Italy and decieded to cross Dimitry over. Dimitry ended up killing the Italian and got up in prison. He was the first member of The Bratva that got caught while the rest of his organisation was still on the run, soon after Vladimir Klarakuzov, Brother of Dimitry Klarakuzov has been also caught and sended to Blueberry prison. Ivan Koslowski, Sovietnik of the Bratva was also caught soon as he was sent to the same prison. The three of them are now running some illegal activities in Blueberry prison while the rest of the Bratva is still on the run from the authorities. The Bratva members are sworn to keep silent when they are caught by the police and they are sworn not to snitch anyone or they could end up being killed or tortured by the other members of The Bratva. In the beginning days of The Bratva it was very hard to earn money and gain respect through the Moscow crime world but somehow they managed to get up fast and earn some big ammount of money. The Bratva was founded by Dimitry's father, Victor Klarakuzov who was very respected man in the Moscow and all around the Russia, he made some illegal work like ****, weapon smuggling, car theft, armed robberyes and similar stuff. When Dimitry took over The Bratva, he made it a bit bigger and more organised than it was before and he succeded in making some big amount of money and gained some respect in Moscow and in some other countries. When the USSR collapsed and a free market economy emerged, The Bratva began to take over Russia's economy, with many ex-KGB soldiers and veterans of the Afghan war offering their skills to The Bratva boss.As the Russian federation gained strength, so did the Bratva as more and more college-educated criminals emerged that had a great understanding of how businesses worked and potential opportunities to exploit. This increased the mafia’s ties to big business and government. As time passed, the importance of The Bratva in the economy and society dwindled but The Bratva is still strong in the gambling and dr*g trafficing. Now that they are in prison The Bratva is still runned in Moscow by Dimitry's close friend Roman, who is still in contact with the three of them inside the prison.

The Bratva, or so called The Brotherhood is led by Pahan, who is the leader of The Bratva, he gives orders to all other members and only few members of The Bratva can speak to him, just Sovietnik,Blatnoi and Brigadir are managed to make contact with Pahan.

There are obviously some differences between different Bratva’s and not much is known about their organizational structure but there are some speculations to how it could be set up:

Bratva Structure:

Pahan-Boss of The Bratva

Jail reason and sentence:

Murder, sentenced for life in prison.

Sovietnik-Advisor of The Bratva

Jail reason and sentence:

****, mass murder, armed robbery, sentenced for life in jail.

Blatnoi-Right hand of The Bratva

Jail reason and sentence:

Murder, sentenced for life in prison.

Brigadir-Captain of The Bratva

Boyevik-Soldier of The Bratva

Kryshas-Enforcer of The Bratva

Shestyorka-Associate of The Bratva

Jail reason and sentence:

Armed robbery, sentenced for thirty years in prison.

Jail reason and sentence:

Murder and drug dealing, sentenced for life in prison.

Thief in Law

Thief in Law refers to a high ranked, respected member of the Russian criminal underworld. The term could be more accurately translated to “thief that follows the law” implying that he is in a gang or he follows the Thieves’ Code.To accept the Thieves’ Code is to swear “complete submission to the laws of criminal life, including obligations to support the criminal adeal, rejection of legitimate employment and refusal to participate in all political activities”. If you broke this code you would be shamed and called a suki or a b*tch. The Pahan would set up their own courts to judge these suki.

Under the code of The Bratva, a member must:

•Not have emotions
•Forsake his relatives
•Help other members: both by moral and material support.
•Keep secret information about the whereabouts of The Bratva.
•If caught, to take the blame for someone else’s crime; this buys them time to escape and remain free.
•Demand an inquiry and judgement by a council of The Bratva if conflict arises between members
•Participate in such inquiries if called upon
•Punish any offending member as decided by the judgement of the council of The Bratva
•Not resist the execution of judgement
•Understand thieves slang, known to most Russian criminals
•Teach the criminal way of life to youth with potential
•Make good on promises given to other members
•Never deny Pahan's status directly.

OOC Rules:

1. No OOC insulting

2. No insulting between each other.

3. Follow the server rules.

4. You must know how to role play properly.

5. No OOC racist insults or there will be consequences.

6.  Don't provoke guards and other players without any reason or if you are not have been told to.
.

How to join The Bratva?
Find our members all across the prison but mostly behind the warehouse area, talk to them and RP with them, then you will get your way into The Bratva. All races are welcome in The Bratva but only a real Russian can move up in ranks, all other members cannot rank up above Kryshas rank. After you join The Bratva you accepted to be CKed if you either snitch us or if you break some of our IC and OOC rules.

I wouldn't say it's pakhan it's more like pahan if to write it as it is spelled. Also I am not sure but I don't think we'd call right hands obshchyaks.

It is Pakhan, check on Wikipedia but a quick reminder is that this is my first time organizing a faction and that kind of stuff and if I something wrote wrong be kind and share it here, thank you!

I checked Wikipedia Bratva Structure and I found stuff like this only, sorry I'm not from Russia, I'm from Croatia and I don't personally know stuff about Bratva so I just looked it up on Google, feel free to tell me what I did wrong so I can learn and do it correctly!

Obshchak is money collector for Pakhan so I think he could be called right hand as he is the one who collects all the money from The Bratva and gives it to the Pakhan directly.

And about too many factions. It is true that there's too many factions around but there is one more free spot, let the best unofficial wins!

Okay, so the Pakhan shall be pahan, first of all. Then, Obshchak is not money collector. It's also called 'cauldron' and appears to be capital funding for illegal russian communities (I am russian and I read russian version of that article, so I guess it'd be more correct.

About right hand rank - you can try and call it, for example, "Blatnoi", which stands for someone who is a member of criminal world; usually those who are called this name are meant to be having significant protection. E.G. if you have connections and your son entered the univercity without proper examination, he is "Blatnoi" as-is. I guess you get the point.. So here it also applies - the guy of such rank has successfully gone under Pahan's wing and has his back covered by him personally as a close friend and associate of his.
If you ask me, I'd say it's the most proper name you can get, but you're free to pick yourself.

About Brigadier.. We'd spell it "Brigadir" as-is and it's more of a russian feel.
Boyevik is quite fine, but shestyorka is a tiny bit off its place, though it is quite close to the idea. Those who are called shestyorkas are usually meant as low-life criminals who have no real power and usually are lowest ranks, as you properly assigned them.

That's it. Hope you can RP a russian properly. If you have some questions regarding some russian-related aspects, you know where to find me :)

"Ring the bell"

First day in Blueberry prison was very excited for Dimitry, when he made his First step into the prison he already  saw some boxing in the ring and he decieded to watch it with the rest of the inmates, he already started thinking about organising some fights and some bets with it.

"Moving boxes"

Dimitry hasn't been used to move box around but now that is the only way to earn the money for him and for The Bratva.

"Riot"

Soon after Dimitry came to prison a riot started, some gang of blacks started shouting around the block A and Dimitry decieded to join in the riot so he can get some trust from other inmates for his further work.
