Maranzano's Crew
« on: July 17, 2016, 12:57:54 am »

Maranzano's Crew first originated in Italy, Sicily in the year 1930 by Don Maranzano (The father of Salvatore Maranzano). The Italian Mafia then moved from Sicily to New York, Little Italy where they would build their criminal organization by participating in racketeering, drug smuggling and murder. The Italian Mafia is a famous New York Italian crime family which follows Omerta along with other Italian crime families.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Omerta is a code of silence which is known to be followed by Italian crime families which includes orders such as having no connections with officers of the law and neither can a member of the family have blood related family members which belong to the police or have ever been associated with the police. Omerta also includes an important rule such as not snitching on others or interfering in other families criminal activity. After time the Don of Maranzano's Crew passed away due to old age and his title as the Don was passed onto his son Salvatore Maranzano.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Salvatore wasn't like his father and wouldn't stop when he was told to therefore he was caught running a racket somewhere in New York because of a rat snitching on him. After Salvatore was snitched on by a rival family he was then sentenced to life in prison unless he stopped his illegal crew therefore he decided to spend a lifetime in prison whilst also running his crew inside prison while his underboss continued running the rest of the crew outside of prison. Outside of prison Salvatore's crew would participate in crimes such as racketeering, murder, kidnapping and drug smuggling all around the city of New York but mostly in Little Italy.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Inside of the prison Salvatore's crew participates in criminal activity such as making people pay them for protection money, drug smuggling, selling illegal weapons to defend themselves from guards with, murder to those who snitched on his business and bribery to keep their business safe from the officers. Maranzano's Crew would be seen inside the prison dressed in rich clothing such as suits and sometimes in tracksuits when retired or too old to participate in the family. Maranzano's Crew motto is Parla bene, ma parla poco which translates to

Quote
Speak well, but speak little.

Proof of roleplay below.

The Falcone Empire is Italian.

There can be several factions of the same sort in a prison, I say we should see how it goes!

Got my support!

Unsupporting because there's two Italian factions in the prison is like saying there shouldn't be five Italian crime families in a city.

Good luck with your faction.

Honestly roleplaying a head of mafia in prison and making a mini-family in mafia is bad portrayal of the modern organized crime, I started like that 3 years ago but realized thats a no-go and switched to being a simple prison gang, because there is no-way a crime family would participate in such low tier deals of a prison, even if their boss is in that prison.

There's already Italian Mafia, but sure. Let's see how it goes, for now, I'm neutral on this.
Keep it up!

Exactly, that's why I didn't name my gang ''The Falcone Crime Family''. Setting up a crew is enough, I believe.

Thanks for the support guys. To the people saying they shouldn't be more than one Italian crime family that's like saying they shouldn't be more than one European/Mexican family. I've been running factions on different servers for a long time and they have all been successful because Italian families would work together. If they wasn't more than one Italian family then what would be the point in following Omerta? I don't understand why someone also said roleplaying the head of a "mini" mafia in jail is bad since that's actually a real life thing for the Italians to survive in jail and make the most out of it. Running an Italian Mafia in jail also benefits you since you could possibly outnumber the guards and escape, demand people for protection money and it would also be good roleplay. I heard somewhere you can escape the Blueberry Prison therefore you could then maybe bring your Mafia outside of the prison and roleplay their with all of your escaped members.

The thing is modern organized crime isn't extorting some bar owner for a pesky 30$/week protection, mafias don't care about those 1 grand $ per month profit of running illegal activities in a prison, so they wouldn't care. Head of crime families usually go to white collar prisons where they'll enjoy the time they are serving rather than rotting in 1x1m cells.
So yeah, a full scale mafia can't work in a prison, and trying to mimic it is gonna have a bad result, if you want to be respected you can't go around like some lowlife wannabe thug robbing $50 from people (current server's limit), You can't go around asking for 10$/day protections, those are bad RPs for an organized crime which you are trying to achieve.
To RP an actual organized crime head you would just stay in your high-class cell, read some books, smoke some quality cigars and play some videogames, you wanna RP those only? sure be my guest.

I and a couple of crew members had a group discussion over Skype and we decided the name would be changed to Maranzano's Crew instead of The Maranzano Family/The Italian Mafia.

I'm not going to keep posting screenshots of my faction if it hasn't yet been accepted since it's just a waste of my time.
